Chelsea:
“First of all, I meditate and pray in the morning. That is the first thing I do. And then, for my mental and physical well-being, I take walks periodically to get centered with myself and the world.”
Brad:
“In a society that places value on productivity, it is easy to get trapped in grind culture and neglect our peace of mind. When I feel myself getting sucked into this cycle, a new method I have tapped into is practicing the art of rest and trusting that the universe will allow things to flow without me going into overdrive. Listening to old-school music that my grandparents loved helps me ease into this relaxed state when I am feeling anxious. It is soothing to the soul!”
Dietra:
“Protecting my peace has been a learning journey, beginning with defining what peace means to me. From poverty to trauma and beyond, I had to release my mind from societal standards that weren’t meant for me and live in my truth. My truth is that everyone deserves a voice, and I hope I am amplifying those who may not feel heard. Humor and levity go a long way in helping me enjoy the ebbs and flows of a turbulent world.”
Romaro:
“What do I do to protect my mental health, to try to be in a good mental space? I pray and I read. I try to separate myself from the anxieties of the world, and I get closer to my spiritual self because I know my spiritual self is guiding me. So I just need to follow the guidance, and everything will be OK.”
Kevin:
“Working out. I try to work out every morning before I go to work because it is a necessary thing, but one of the least things I enjoy doing. So, I get it in first thing in the morning so that way I’ve got the worst part of my day over with. Video games at the end of the day to wind down. That’s pretty much it as far as what I do to maintain my mental health.”
Daniel:
“I check in regularly with myself. I know for me that it is best to prioritize time for myself away from people because I can be easily influenced. Giving myself those moments alone to reflect, as well as enjoying each day, helps to protect and maintain my well-being and mental health.”
