Classic Street Fighter announcers and sounds coming as new customizable options in Street Fighter 6 M. Bison update

Street Fighter 6 already received a massive update last month with the arrival of Akuma and the Season 2 balance patch, but it seems the developers had a lot more in the works they’re ready to share now.

Capcom just revealed another new feature coming to SF6 with the M. Bison update that should make longtime fans feel a bit nostalgic.

As can be seen and heard in the new video from the developers, SF6 will soon let you use the classic sounds and announcers from basically all main Street Fighter games of the past.

It appears, however, they’ll just be limited to an additional new option in the Custom Challenges menu like you could already do with character art and backgrounds for ranked, casual and Battle Hub matches.

So you won’t be hearing them during matches or replacing the commentators even though one modder already added Street Fighter 4’s announcer doing just that.

Right now those incoming sound settings include the original Street Fighter, Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter 5.

And unlike the recent addition of classic background music for matches, these announcers appear to be free for everyone.

There’s a lot more quality of life features and improvements coming to SF6 very shortly too.

Visual adjustments have been made to make the health bar glow when Critical Art becomes available, for example, alongside the Drive Gauge in burnout being a bit easier to see.

They’re also adding a shortcut to launch SF6 straight into Training Mode from the title screen, which may be one of the most useful of them all.

Beyond those, Replays, notifications and match settings are going to receive some nice QOL changes too that will come in handy.

All of these new quality of life additions and improvements will be dropping in just a few hours alongside M. Bison to kick off Season 2 content for SF6 on June 26.
