The official Tekken Twitter account has announced that Tekken 8’s servers will be temporarily offline tomorrow for maintenance. This period will begin at 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT and persist for an unknown span of time.
As expected, online content will be unavailable throughout this process. Once Tekken 8’s servers are back up, there will apparently be new items added to the Tekken Shop.
Of course, Tekken 8 patch version 1.05 was made available just a couple of weeks ago. This ended up being one of the largest balance patches the game has seen thus far.
Being that there’s no warning about losing replays, it seems unlikely that there will be any major balance adjustments made so soon after the latest update. It’s still an early point in this new meta, so we’ll have to see which characters end up being the strongest in the long run.
Notably, Lidia Sobieska was recently revealed to be the second DLC fighter being added to Tekken 8. Though we don’t know an exact date for her just yet, she’s slated to be released sometime in Summer 2024.
The idea that Bandai Namco is preparing to release Lidia with this server maintenance seems even less plausible than balance adjustments. We’ll still have to wait for more information about her impending arrival into Tekken 8.
As for the items being added to the Tekken Shop, their contents remain a mystery for the time being. Luckily though, it won’t be long before we find out what’s actually being added.
