One Dead, Two Seriously Injured in East Village Stabbing – NYC

June 24, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Police are investigating a fatal stabbing incident where 1 person was killed and 2 others were seriously injured during a violent street brawl in the East Village Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, June 23, 2024, police rushed to East 14th St. and Avenue A, just before 6:00 p.m., after several 911 calls were made reporting multiple people stabbed, cops said.

When officers arrived at the location they located three people injured with various stab wounds.

A 38-year-old man was found stabbed in the throat area who was then rushed by paramedics to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition but could not be saved and was pronounced dead.

Also among the victims transported to Bellevue Hospital was a 51-year-old woman stabbed in the leg and is currently fighting for her life in critical condition.

A 32-year-old male victim also hospitalized was stabbed in the back and last listed in stable condition, police said.

According to police officials, a 30-year-old male was arrested at the scene and a tool or type of cutting instrument was recovered by officers. Charges are pending a full investigation as detectives work to determine a motive.
