Ekpe highlighted specific achievements, including the prompt payment of gratuities, and backlogged salaries for street sweepers, personally overseen by the governor’s wife during a trip to northern Cross River.

“Your Excellency, when you came on board, you paid all the gratuities. It didn’t end there, your wife went to the north and paid all the backlogs of salaries owed street sweepers,” she noted. “Your Excellency, your government is a sweet one indeed.”

The forum leader emphasized the widespread appreciation among current and former councillors. “You’ve done enough for us. Even our predecessors always say that we are very lucky to be councillors in your tenure,” Ekpe stated, adding, “So, we stand strong for you, Your Excellency. Come 2027, we are here for you.”

The motion for the endorsement was seconded by Hon. Eneji Sam Ashibi, ‘the leader of leaders’.

This endorsement underlines the growing grassroots momentum for Gov Otu’s administration as political activities intensify ahead of 2027.
