The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYC, Cross River State Chapter is appealing to Cross River State Government and the sweet Governor over the deteriorating situation on the Ikom, Boki, Obudu road vis-a-vis requesting the attention of all concerned Federal Authorities.
The Council calls on the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Works and FERMA, to swiftly respond to the cry of the people in the affected areas. The ongoing crisis has caused immense hardship and disruption to the livelihood of residents, and it is imperative that government intervenes to restore peace and order.
The area is known for its rich agro-economic activities, and the Council believes that with government intervention, the road crisis can be resolved, unlocking the potential for development and economic growth in the region. The improvement of the road network will not only enhance the living standards of the people but also boost agricultural production, trade, and commerce, ultimately contributing to the state’s economic development.

While appreciating the resolve of the young people of Cross River State to promote dialogue over violence, the Council emphasizes the need for government authorities to take proactive measures to maintain peace and stability in the areas.
The NYCN-CRS Chapter appreciate the efforts of the State Government in ameliorating the citizens difficulties by different remedial measures as seen on different roads facing the same challenges as always we believe the State and Federal Government will prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens and take concrete steps to address the situation.
The State Chairman, His Youthfulness Chairman Comr. Emmanuel Olayi urges the Youths of the affected areas to remain Law abiding and maintain the peace even as we remain hopeful of timely interventions by all concerned authorities.
