Leadership of the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have urged party members to participate fully in the ongoing nationwide electronic registration exercise, describing it as crucial for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 general election.

The call was made by the State Chairman of the Party, Chief Basil Ejidike, during a stakeholders’ meeting in Awka, on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, convened by the Director General, South East Governors Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife to review progress and chart the way forward for the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration (e-registration) exercise nationwide.

According to Ejidike, the e-registration “is not merely administrative; it is a strategic political process aimed at repositioning the APC for continued dominance, unity, and electoral victories at all levels in the upcoming general elections.

He emphasised that a strong and verifiable membership register “remains the backbone of any serious political party” and urged all members—old and new, leaders and grassroots supporters—to see the exercise as both a civic and political responsibility.

“Participation in this exercise is a clear demonstration of loyalty, commitment, and readiness to defend the ideals and progressive philosophy of the APC. It is also necessary for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he noted.

He also encouraged party supporters who are yet to formally register to take advantage of the ongoing process and become bonafide members.

“At this critical moment in our political journey, unity, discipline, and active participation remain key to consolidating the achievements of the APC-led government and sustaining the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Anambra State must continue to stand firm as a progressive stronghold of the APC in the South East region of Nigeria, the Chairman stressed.

He commended the party supporters for their commitment, maturity and comportment during the just concluded November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election in the state.

In her remark, the convener, Senator Ekwunife, urged loyalists across the state’s 21 local government areas to ensure their membership details are updated.

She said the Anambra APC is targeting the registration of over 336,000 new members at the closed of the exercise.

Ekwunife commended the national leadership of the party for initiating the technologically driven registration process and reaffirmed Anambra APC’s support for Tinubu/Shettima’s re-election bid come 2027.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of cash awards to the three best-performing local government areas in the ongoing e-registration exercise:
₦500,000 for first place
₦300,000 for second place
₦150,000 for third place.

A breakdown of the performance showed that Njikoka Local Government Area recorded the highest number of registered members, followed by Awka South and Onitsha South.
