M. Bison's damage output in Street Fighter 6 looks absolutely ludicrous if this clip is anything to go by

M. Bison is to be released on June 26 as the Year 1 Character Pass’ first DLC combatant. Just yesterday, some new footage featuring M. Bison gameplay was released, some of which came from IGN Japan.

As highlighted by The Cool Kid93, M. Bison’s damage output is looking pretty crazy based on one of the clips that surfaced during the video uploaded by IGN that featured two level 7 CPUs fighting against one another as M. Bison and Zangief.

Out of all the characters in Street Fighter 6, Zangief has the most vitality. As things stand, Zangief has 11,000 hit points, making him the most difficult character to knock out with just two combos.

However, M. Bison was shown to be able to deplete Zangief’s health bar by about 50-70% using a single combo. Of course, an important caveat to note here is that M. Bison’s Psycho Mine was in play here.

Capcom’s blog post for M. Bison informed us that the Psycho Mine can be implanted on the opponent with the Backfist Combo special. To manually detonate the Psycho Mine, M. Bison needs only to connect with the Psycho Crusher, another Backfist Combo, or Devil Reverse.

Alternatively, the Psycho Mine will detonate automatically after a set duration, though it’s obviously best to have it go off mid combo for some extra damage. The opponent’s only saving grace against the Psycho Mine is that it will be dispelled if they manage to hit M. Bison, similar to how A.K.I.’s poison mechanic works.

In the clip, M. Bison already had Zangief cornered and with the Psycho Mine active. From here, he was able to connect the Overdrive Devil Reverse against an airborne Zangief. Thanks to the Psycho Mine, M. Bison was able to continue the juggle.

Before Zangief could hit the ground, M. Bison juggled into the Overdrive Psycho Crusher. Following this, he then cancelled into his level 3 super art.

One thing that’s particularly scary about this clip is that M. Bison did it with a healthy amount of life remaining. If M. Bison only had 25% of his life remaining, his level 3 super art would be upgraded to a Critical Art, which deals even more damage.

As mentioned before, this dealt over 50% damage against Zangief, the character with more health than any other fighter right now. Imagine if this sequence was used against Akuma, the character with the lowest vitality — 9,000 hit points.

Of course, it’s definitely worth mentioning that Zangief probably did the absolute worst thing he could’ve done while in this situation. Even though the Psycho Mine was active, Zangief elected to jump against M. Bison, who was already airborne as a result of his Shadow Rise special.

This scene will likely be a uncommon occurrence at high level play. Ultimately though, we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to get some ideas about what type of impact M. Bison will have on the meta when he’s released on June 26.
