Nigerians are now complaining that food is too cheap, Adams Oshiomhole says

Former governor of Edo State and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that Nigerians are now saying food is becoming too cheap.

Mr Oshiomhole spoke during an interview with Channels TV on Wednesday.

He stated, “There are Nigerians now who are saying food is becoming too cheap.”

Mr Oshiomhole explained that the reforms by President Bola Tinubu’s government were working when asked what would Mr Tinubu use as his campaign point for reelection.

He added, “I even heard some opposition member saying the president is manipulating food prices to crash. So they are angry that the food prices are down.”

Mr Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, also backed Mr Tinubu’s tax reforms laws.

“The facts on the ground show that President Tinubu’s tax policy is consistent with the values of a progressive government,” Mr Oshiomhole said.

He added, “And this is a progressive tax policy that places a higher burden on those who earn more while offering tax exemptions to those who earn less.”
