Much speculation has been surrounding Greenwood’s next club, with United looking to offload the 22-year-old this summer following a successful loan at Getafe.

With teams like Getafe, Fenerbahce, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli all in the mix, even the country which Greenwood will be calling home next hasn’t looked set in any way.

However recently, the winger has been looking likely be setting off to Italy, with Juventus coming through as the front runners to get the youngster’s signature.

Earlier this month, Greenwood informed his agents that he’d be open to a move to Serie A, which in turn sparked preliminary conversations between Juve and United about a deal for the 22-year-old.

Recent reports from Tuttojuve added to this to say that Juventus are looking to turn the deal into a player-plus-cash deal, offering United 20-year-old Samuel Illing-Junior to help lower the asking price for Greenwood.

By using Illing-Junior in this way, Juve can attempt to overcome their financial struggles which could prevent them paying the expected asking price of between £30 million and £35 million for Greenwood.

However, reports from talkSPORT are now suggesting that the value United are looking for to secure the winger’s signature is much higher that this.

In order to land Greenwood on a permanent deal, United are expecting a team to part ways with £50 million, which could throw a spanner in the works for Juventus.

Another factor on this deal taking place is that Samuel Illing-Junior is also being used as a part-exchange in another deal with fellow Premier League club Aston Villa.

Fabrizio Romano has reported on X that Villa and Juve are now extremely close to a final agreement which would see Juventus send Samuel Illing-Junior, Weston McKennie and €20 million to Aston Villa in return of Douglas Luiz joining the Italian giants.

He continues to report that personal terms for all players are now being discussed which could have big implications on the deal for Greenwood.

If this deal goes through, then Samuel Illing-Junior would no longer be available to be included in the Greedwood deal, which with the increased price tag on the winger, could see Juve struggle to meet with United’s terms of sale.
