For a number of players at Old Trafford at the moment, their future are uncertain.
We already know that a number of players are entering their final year of contracts and so it’s expected that United are going to look at cashing in this summer rather than lose them for free at the end of their contracts.
In this list we have some big names like Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and veteran of the Premier League, Christian Eriksen.
Having had spells at Spurs, Brentford and United, Eriksen is well now to football fans, and on his move to Old Trafford in 2022 for free, United were hailed as having made a smart move signing the Denmark international.
When Casemiro joined the squad, Eriksen’s game reached a whole new level, becoming a key part of Erik ten Hag’s new United squad.
Since joining the Red Devils, Eriksen has made a total of 72 appearances, grabbing three goals and thirteen assists, however this season has seen his game time tail off with only 28 games across all competitions.
It’s expected the Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new transfer policy of targeting young players with plenty of potential will see Eriksen’s game time reduce even further if he was to remain at the club.
As such, a move away from Old Trafford may be best all round. However, the 32-year-old has come out in an interview with Bold to express his feelings around a move to a specific league.
The Danish midfielder has expressed he is automatically rejecting an interest for Saudi Arabia, saying: “I have never received an offer, and I have made sure that it has never been approached.”
He continued: “If my agent has said something, I’ve always said that I don’t even want to know what it is, because it’s not something that interests me. I understand that it can be really difficult to say no if you see how much money is involved, but I just try to avoid it completely so that I don’t get to know how much it could be.”
With his future in football uncertain, one thing is for sure, Eriksen won’t be lighting up the Saudi Pro League any time soon.
