The Saint John Catholic Church Agulu, Anaocha local government area of Anambra State, has inaugurated it 2025 Holy Childhood Association (HCA).
The inauguration process which took place at the Church auditorium, on Sunday, December 14th, 2025 was presided by the Archbishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor, during his Pastoral visit.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration, Ezeokafor called on the faithful to support the Association, emphasizing that “praying for children is no less important than teaching them to pray for one another.

He highlighted that the association aims to instill a sense of global responsibility in children, beyond just providing material support. He noted that involving children in the association’s mission fosters values of compassion, openness, and cooperation from an early age.
The ceremony included a pledge taken by children enrolled in the association, committing themselves to prayer, participation, and assistance as part of their dedication to its mission.
The Parish priest of Saint John Catholic Church Agulu, Rev Fr. Cosmas Ekwutosi, thanked Bishop Ezeokafor, parents and other members of the Church for their continued support.
in his remark, the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Azubuike Imoka admonish the children to carry out the responsibility with the fear of God.
The Holy Childhood Association is one of the papal missionary works, aimed at fostering a spirit of solidarity, prayer, and mutual assistance among children to support their peers suffering from poverty, conflicts, and humanitarian crises, especially in poor and marginalized areas in the World.
It was learnt that the association, founded in the 19th century, focuses on supporting children spiritually, educationally, and medically through programs under the Catholic Church.
