Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has halted the recent local government recruitment exercise.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, by Mr Linus Obogo, Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, the suspension follows the resignation of Mr Darlington Basey Eyo, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.
The statement condemned the recruitment process, labeling it as a serious abuse of office and widespread employment racketeering.
