With the 2023/24 season at an end and the transfer window, team will now be looking towards the pre-season friendlies before kicking off the leagues again later this summer.

With the Euro 2024 finals on our doorstep, Europe’s greatest are going to be on display for their country in an effort to be crowned best European national team.

United have had a number of players called up, with Scott McTominay being called up for Scotland, Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw for England, and Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot for Portugal.

As for the rest of the Red Devils squad, they’ll be firmly looking at getting ready for the preseason.

However, a freak injury in a personal training session has now ruled out one youngster until the start of the new league season.

It’s being reported by Manchester Evening News that Dan Gore unfortunately has suffered a dislocated shoulder and has had to undergo surgery this week.

The 19-year-old is set to start rehabilitation in the coming days and will be aiming to be back at the start of the 2024/25 season.

A graduate of the United academy, Gore is yet to get much game time for the Red Devils, only featuring in the 3-0 defeat of Crystal Palace in the Third Round of the EFL Cup.

However the 19-year-old was the captain of the under-21s United squad, and featured in the team that lifted the 2021/22 FA Youth Cup alongside the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

Despite his lack of game time the youngster does show promise having been featured in the 31-man squad for United’s tour of the United States last summer, putting on an impressive display against Lyon.

This is not the first time that injury has stuck for the youngter. Gore joined Port Vale on loan in the January transfer window but injured himself in his first game for the Midlands club. That derailed his progress and meant he only played one game out on loan.

Gore will be hoping that the current injury doesn’t impact him too much either as he will look to kick-on his development further in the new season.
