The Joseph Onuorah Foundation (Deme Deme), in partnership with the Ndiowu Town Union (NTU), in Orumba North local government area of Anambra State, has officially announced the Ndiowu Sports Fiesta 2025, a week-long community sporting event set to bring together the people of the community in a spirit of unity, healthy competition, and celebration.
The event will run from December 24th to 31st, 2025, at the Community Secondary School, Ndiowu, beginning daily at 2:00 PM.
Promoting Sportsmanship and Community Development, “The Ndiowu Sports Fiesta is designed as a grassroots initiative to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and youth empowerment among Ndiowu’s indigenes at home and abroad. It aims to rekindle communal bonds and create a festive platform where the values of discipline, excellence, and cooperation can be celebrated through sports.

According to the organizers, the competition will feature athletics (for females only) and veterans’ football matches, alongside the main village football tournament involving all villages in Ndiowu. The event promises to deliver thrilling sporting moments while fostering unity and cultural pride within the community.
Attractive Cash Prizes and Awards
Participants will compete for prestigious cash prizes and medals: Gold: ₦1.5 million, Silver: ₦1 million and Bronze: ₦500,000 respectively.
In addition to the top prizes, several individual awards will be presented, including: Highest Goalscorer, Most Valuable Player (MVP), Best Goalkeeper, Best Referee and other Merit Awards recognizing outstanding contributions.
Speaking on the event in Awka, on Thursday, the founder of the Joseph Onuorah Foundation, Dr. Joseph Chimezie Onuorah (Deme Deme Na Orumba), emphasized that the Sports Fiesta is more than just a competition — it is a vehicle for youth empowerment, social cohesion, and community development.
“Through sports, we can inspire our young people to stay active, united, and focused on excellence. Ndiowu has a rich history of talent and resilience, and this Fiesta is our way of celebrating that spirit,”

The Joseph Onuorah Foundation has continued to champion initiatives that drive education, social welfare, and economic empowerment across communities in Anambra State and beyond. The Ndiowu Sports Fiesta stands as another testament to its enduring commitment to giving back and promoting positive social values.
“The Ndiowu Town Union (NTU), co-organizers of the event, has expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that the Fiesta will add color to the festive season while strengthening village unity. The NTU President praised the Foundation’s consistent role in uplifting Ndiowu’s youth through various developmental programs.
The event is expected to attract indigenes from across Nigeria and the diaspora, traditional leaders, sports enthusiasts, and well-wishers who will gather to cheer their villages to victory in a spirit of camaraderie.
According to him, the Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and community development. Founded by Dr. Joseph Chimezie Onuorah, the Foundation has initiated and supported numerous projects aimed at improving lives and fostering unity within communities.
Dr Onuorah noted that the event is scheduled to hold at Community Secondary School Ndiowu between December 24th-31st, 2025 by 2PM daily.
