Nigeria At 65: Goodwill Message From Cross River State Forestry Commission

Happy 65th Independence Day Celebration

On behalf of my family, Management and Staff of the Cross River State Forestry Commission, I join the good citizens of Nigeria to felicitate the President and Commander In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, all Distinguished Legislators of the National Assembly, the Federal Executive Council, Leadership of Political Parties and all patriotic Nigerians.

Particularly, we also congratulate our own dear “People First” Governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Eyambem, and Members of the State House of Assembly, the State Chief Judge, Justice Akon Ikpeme, Members of the State Executive Council and all Cross Riverians on this propitious event of the Nigerian 65th Independence Day Celebration of our dear Country.

On this epochal event of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, all of us at the Cross River State Forestry Commission stand with millions of Nigerians all over the world in celebration of our nation’s great annals, embedded with teamwork, unity, strength and resilience. As we remember the sacrifices made by our progenitors, the battles won and the pathway created for us to collectively work through the fulfillment of our inevitable course.

Most importantly, we appreciate the collaborative effort of both the Federal and State Government towards upholding, remolding and rebuilding of our Nation and State respectively.

With a unified voice, we salute the dogged leadership and achievements of our own dear Governor; that are visible through  series of innovations, development and face-lifting and total outlook of our prestigious State.

We, in the CRS Forestry Commission are committed to regulate and sustainably manage the State’s forests and wildlife, oversee the duties of forest resources, licensing forest activities, protecting biodiversity and watersheds, and promoting reforestation.

In our quest to achieve excellence, we are also poised to work with communities through forest management associations, enforcing laws against illegal logging and poaching, and align its work with national and international conservation policies.

By managing trust funds and support research, we safeguard Cross River’s ecological heritage and ensure the long-term sustainability of its natural resources.

Your Excellency, we pledge our unfaltering loyalty, dedication and total support to your Administration in delivering on your mandate.
