Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is legendary within the fighting game community. It has been one of the most highly revered competitive fighting games of all time, and whenever a modern exhibition or tournament comes up that features the title, the community is always thrilled to see it.
There are die hard Marvel 2 fans out there who, nearly 25 years after its launch, are still in the lab trying to find new things. From the looks of it, those folks are indeed finding what they seek, and this crazy combo that features a team of Thanos, Gambit, and Ken is definitely worth your time.
This creative sequence was uploaded to Twitter by super_unk3800 and utilizes three characters we just don’t see very often in competitive play.
Thanos is on point here and starts things off against a standing Juggernaut (likely for his large hurtbox). He hits a deep cross up and fires right into his bubble special move, which captures Juggernaut and keeps him stuck in place allowing for a follow up attack.
A lot happens in very short order at this point in the combo, but what it essentially boils down to is Thanos hits a string against the opponent, calls Ken in for an assist, and throws another one of his bubbles that sails across the screen.
Thanos throws out his large orb super, then DHCs into Gambit’s card toss super which all juggles Juggernaut across the screen until he lands on the earlier thrown bubble. A raw tag in for Ken keeps things going, and the Shoto gets several loops of an air sequence before comboing into a super of his own and depleting the remainder of Juggernaut’s health.
If the set up and the execution on this combo weren’t impressive enough, it’s worth pointing out that it also acts as a touch of death for Juggernaut. We can only hope the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 combo scientists continue their work and keep releasing awesome sequences like this one.
