Jarrad Branthwaite has had a remarkable season for Everton this year, with the 21-year-old being a key member of the Toffees defence throughout the campaign.

Despite Everton’s 15th place finish in the Premier League this season, Branthwaite has really made a name for himself, putting in some incredible performances which no doubt helped Everton get out of the relegation zone that they found themselves in at the start of the season.

Making 41 appearances across all competitions, the Englishman also managed to get on the score sheet on three occasions in the league, scoring past Spurs, Brighton and Liverpool, the former two managing to secure a draw and some points on the table.

Since joining Everton from Carlisle in 2020 for €1.1 million, Branthwaite was sent out on back to back loans to Blackburn and PSV Eindhoven, with his loan spell in the Netherlands seeing him help the squad to lift the Dutch Cup at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The impressive set of performances from the centre-back has not only got him a call up for the England squad for the upcoming Euros in Germany, but also has spiked interest in a number of big name clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

United are interested in the young defender on the back of their injury plagued season which hit their defence most this year. On top of this, the club is losing veteran of the game, Raphael Varane, with his contract coming to an end.

With all this in the mind of the United management, as well as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s desired strategy of building the team on the back of young, British players, Branthwaite could be the perfect solution at the heart of the back line at Old Trafford.

It’s now being reported by Sky Sports that Everton are valuing the player in the region of £60 million to £70 million, with the club needing to sell on one of their main assets by the end of June in order to comply with PSR.

With such pressure on the club to sell, this could support United’s bid to sign the player if the right offer can be agreed.
