MultiVersus is gearing up for its big rerelease on May 28 — this upcoming Tuesday. From my early impressions of MultiVersus after getting the chance to check out the game a little early, I can safely say that the game is going to be dramatically changing, for the better, compared to how the game felt during its beta period.
RPS FGC recently created 1v1 and 2v2 tier lists for the MultiVersus Beta, for the purposes of documenting what the game was like. Of course, RPS FGC isn’t just citing his own opinions as he ended up reaching out to top MultiVersus competitors, online stats, and tournament results to construct both tier lists as objectively as possible.
Jake, Superman, and Harley Quinn have been declared to be the “three gods” of 1v1. However, it turns out that they’re just good in general since they also occupy top spots on the 2v2 tier list.
Many players cite Batman as being ridiculously strong in 1v1, but a liability in 2v2. This appears to be backed by Batman’s online 2v2 stats, but his overall tournament results actually suggest that he’s still a threat in this format.
Steven Universe, Velma, Iron Giant, and Black Adam are said to be the weakest combatants in the 1v1 format. Of course, Velma and Steven Universe, two fighters labeled by the game itself as being of the “support” role, tend to be strong in the 2v2 format.
No matter how you look at it, however, Black Adam is the worst overall character in 1v1 and 2v2. Iron Giant appeared to struggle towards the end of the beta in both formats as well.
