Capcom showcases Akuma in a new scene that really demonstrates his raw power in Street Fighter 6's World Tour

We’re just three days away from the release of Akuma and the Season 2 balance update for Street Fighter 6. Of course, the Gokuento stage, Akuma’s home stage in Street Fighter 6, will also be available for download.

During the gameplay debut trailer, a giant stone head is sent flying towards the player avatar. Following this, we can see him standing on top of a headless statue, which causes the player avatar to begin shaking uncontrollably.

Capcom recently highlighted how the anticipated DLC fighter is due to release in three days. With this, we actually get a glimpse at the scene that’s set to play out before what we saw in the trailer.

To the surprise of nobody, Akuma was the one who decapitated that enormous statue settled on Gokuento. We see that the fighter is airborne with his fist directly under the statue’s chin.

It takes a bit of effort from Akuma, but we can clearly see that he’s performing some sort of variation of the dragon punch on the statue. The clip ends before we can see what happens next, but it’s easy enough to assume that the confrontation seen in the trailer plays out after this.

Of course, it’s actually worth noting that Akuma is then able to perform a dragon punch against the player avatar, exactly how he did against the statue. Being that the player avatar isn’t decapitated, this seems to imply that Akuma has retained enough of his humanity to hold back against those he deems as being weak.
