Akuma and the Season 2 balance patch for Street Fighter 6 are both slated to be released on May 22. As such, the meta will be shifting in some unexpected ways due to the scope of this balance update.
Funnily enough, iDom has taken it upon himself to construct a day -10 tier list for Street Fighter 6 Season 2, which serves to predict which characters will be the most relevant in the new meta. This is all based on the changes that we’ve seen in videos, as well as word of mouth from players that have had the opportunity to try out select Season 2 changes in early preview events.
It would seem that iDom subscribes to the idea that Akuma will be very powerful upon release. He has Akuma ranked as the character that’s mostly likely to be the best in Season 2.
Luke is an interesting character as many have expected him to get massive nerfs, but it seems that Capcom has strangely mixed in some buffs along with some nerfs. Due to this, iDom has Luke ranked at second on this predictive tier list.
Manon, E. Honda, and Dhalsim are still expected to be among the worst in Street Fighter 6, suggesting that not much will change for them. Of course, this could prove to be problematic for iDom considering that he’s a Manon main.
