May 13, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Over the weekend MTA announced a new installment of metro cards that would commemorate New York City native Ice Spice.
“I got one!” -Kameron, Ice Spice Fan
The MTA rolled out 50 thousand limited edition MetroCards featuring the Bronx rapper and comes in conjunction with the release of her debut album “Y2K.”
We spoke with Ice Spice fans who came to the station specifically for the midnight release. “I got one!” Kameron said with a smile from ear to ear.
Kameron is an Ice Spice fan we met at the 42nd St station who says he’s been listening to the rapper for about a year. The fan stated that his job plays her music a lot throughout the day and that it helps him.
At first Kameron was disappointed because he thought he had missed out on the opportunity of owning the card and feared that they were already sold out.
It was then an MTA customer service agent notified him that a machine upstairs contained the MetroCard and Kameron refocused his search for the limited edition item.
The exclusive MetroCards are now available for purchase while supplies last at subway stations in the Bronx and Manhattan.
