2019 AGM: NMA partners Ministry of Health; hold free medical outreach at Akamkpa General Hospital

As part of activities to mark the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Medical Association – Cross River State Chapter (NMA-CRS), the association conducted a free medical outreach at the Akamkpa General Hospital to give back to the society NEGROIDHAVEN can say.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the association, Dr. Crystal Akpan, the free medical outreach is a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the association as a whole and the partnership with the Cross River State Ministry of Health is to make sure people who are in dire need of medical attention benefit from the outreach and also encourage the need to visit hospitals and seek proper medical consultations from healthcare professionals as the theme of the AGM talks about the Menace of Quackery in Nigeria. 
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and a member of the association, Dr. Joseph Bassey, assured the association of a continued support from the Ministry as the State is also working assiduously to curb quackery across board. 
The medical outreach featured free eye checks and issuance of glasses to those in need, free ultra sound scan to women, free Pediatric consultations, free drugs was given to children, women, and men, and free medical consultations to all and sundry with referral and follow up modalities for very serious cases.
