A prominent Christian cleric in Calabar, Nigeria, Sunday said he frowned against journalists of government-owned Nigerian Television Authority, NTA for reportedly wanting to interview him in respect of COZA-gate.
Pst Joseph Okoro the General Overseer of the Bible Christian Crusaders Mission, BCCM whose church is headquartered in Calabar, Cross River informed that recently he declined the intention of media personalities from NTA to elicit his perspective on the rape allegation that trailed the spiritual leader of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Pst Biodun Fatoyinbo by Busola Dakolo the wife of the music maestro, Timi Dakolo. According to Okoro, of what beneficial relevance will his perspective be to even the journalist who indicated the interest?
His words in part, ‘… I was informed by one of my pastors that some journalists from NTA want to interview me in respect of COZA. I told him to tell them that if it is about COZA, I don’t want to see them; but if it is about RUGA I am ready to grant them an interview.’
Speaking earlier to congregants who gathered today during service, the revered Christian cleric said that, ‘I understand that the Federal Government has suspended the RUGA programme. We don’t want any suspension, we want a cancellation’.
RUGA means Rural Grazing Area, it is a settlements project under the National Livestock Transformation Plan. The disposition of the Federal Government to implement the programme in some states of the Federation incited controversy which caused the FG to suspend the programme because it is suspected to be a ploy to grab land for an ethnic group, Fulani in view of domination and conquest of other tribes.
