PRESS RELEASE
Government attention has been drawn to the activities of illegal loggers and fraudulent members of the society who have been issuing logging permit and clearance for such vehicles.
Those in the habit of issuing such permit and clearance are hereby advised to desist from such unscrupulous, unpatriotic activities henceforth.
Anybody caught in this act will be treated as criminals and dealt with according to the law no matter how highly placed.
The public is hereby reminded that the Anti-Deforestation Board, Tax Force and Agencies have long been dissolved. No member of the Board should therefore go about extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public in the name of issuing permit.
All Cross Riverians are hereby enjoined to report any logger or vehicle conveying logs to Law Enforcement Agents and the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Handsome reward awaits those who report or give useful information on this illegal practice.
Please be warned.
