After a fierce electoral battle, Chief Alex Egbona of the APC has been declared winner of the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency election in Cross River State.
The returning officer, Prof Chike Ekeokpara who announced the result at Ugep on Monday morning said Egbona scored the highest number of votes and was therefore the winner.
He defeated the speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr John Gaul who had the backing of Senator Liyel Imoke.
