Abandoned drainage construction at Asuquo Ekpo Street

Mr Ukorebi Ita, a resident of Calabar has drawn attention to a government-abandoned project in a street in Calabar South LG.
Yesterday, Mr Ita uploaded a set of pictures to his social media accounts while demanding explanations as to why the iproject of drainage construction for Asuquo Expo Street linking Uwanse and Atamunu Streets was left abandoned until now.
In his words, 'Is this a failed contract or just plain corruption in high places, that is typical of all other Nigerian failed contracts? We need an answer to what happened to the stoppage of the construction of this road and others around her?'
For the reader's information, the drainage system of the said street that first necessitated the infrastructural construction contract to be awarded is worsening by the day. The gully erosion is deepening and widening by the day threatening to swallow the entire street. Again, the dwindling hygienic condition of Asuquo Ekpo Street and bordering streets like Ekpo Nwa, etc is profound. Before situations gets escalated government should intervene by first finding out to whom contracts was awarded and by whom and why the project was abandoned.
