P4P to Organise 5km 'Peace Walk-a-Thon' in Calabar, CRS capital city

Every 21 September world over is tagged by the United Nations as International Day of Peace. This year's (2016) theme is, 'The Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace'.

In Nigeria especially Calabar, Cross River State capital city, the Partners for Peace (P4P), a non-governmental organisation set to promote peace in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria will be marking this auspicious day through a handful of activities principal among which is a 5km peace walk coded Peace Walk-a-Thon. P4P encourages proactive action, team spirit and volunteerism.

Considering the threat to peace posed by insurgency in the north, militancy in the south, secession in the east, armed robbery, kidnapping, theft, cult gang rivalry etc that recently greeted our dear state's capital there is need for a proactive to ensure sustainable peace. And all P4P is asking you is that you trek for peace.
