While I commend my friend and elder brother, Barr. Dorncklaimz Enamhe for his initiative in branding the state through his “Think Cross River ” brand. I think those who truly think Cross River are those who are fearless in telling the government the truth and drawing the attention of government to key issues that affect our people.

They are truly the people who “Think Cross River” and they deserve commendation. The government of Gov. Ayade must immediately bring in think tanks who would help him shape the scheme of things. He should bring in people who are not sycophants, bootlickers, praise singers and stomach infrastructure politicians.

I truly love Cross River State and I “Think Cross River” daily. I want a state which I can be proud of. Where the education system is of international standard. A state with good health care, good roads, good housing scheme, taxis for our people, and many more.

The government must immediately begin to “Think Cross River”. Governor Ayade should immediately industrialize the groundnut in Bekwarra, plantain in Biase, the fish and cray fish in Bakassi, salt in Okpoma, rice in Bansara, the Okuku market which would serve as an evacuation corridor, the cocoa in Ikom and Boki, the honey in Obanlikwu and the garri in Obubra. All these would help the shape the economy.

In as much as I commend Governor Ayade for trying to bring in projects into the state, I think the best way to go is focusing on the above mentioned. The Nigeria economy is in a bad shape. The present economy does not need or require elitist projects. Those who control the economy are actually people who sell petty products on our streets and markets, and so, we must begin to empower our people on SMEs and focus more on industralizing what we have in Cross River State.

Thinking Cross River State goes beyond lip service or praise singing. It is all about showing genuine love for our state and nation.

If we must must move forward, we must take things one step at a time while focusing on the potentials we have as a people.

I Think Cross River!
