UNICAL Don Emerges Winner of the Jens Jacobsen Prize in the ISUD World Congress, Poland

Warsaw —Jonathan O. Chimakonam, Ph.D., a lecturer in the prestigious Department of Philosophy, University of Calabar, has been reportedly announced as the winner of the Jens Jacobsen Prize in the just concluded 11th World Congress of the International Society for Universal Dialogue (ISUD) which took place from 11-15 July 2016 in Poland.

The conference theme which was 'Values and Ideals: Theory and Praxis' was hosted by the Polish Academy of Sciences, the University of Warsaw, and the Philosophy for Dialogue Foundation. The principal venue for the presentation of papers and panels was the beloved “Old Warsaw Library” near the center of the University of Warsaw campus. It had 10 sub-themes.

In the website of the International Society for Universal Dialogue (ISUD) it was announced concerning the Jens Jacobsen Research Prize that, 'ISUD is pleased to announce that we will award $1500 Jens Jacobsen Research Prizes for the ten most outstanding papers presented at the 2016 ISUD World Congress'. Dr Chimakonam's paper was reportedly adjudged to be one of the 10 outstanding papers out of about 167 philosophers who participated from over 40 countries. Out of ecstasy at the announcement of the award, the recipient Dr Chimakonam took to his social media account to express himself thus: 'It seemed unreal when I was announced winner of Jens Jacobsen prize award for outstanding paper of the conference! Special thanks to my two wonderful friends, Aribiah Attoe and Ada Agada who supplied insightful critical comments that strengthened the paper'.
