The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress-APC over what it describes as 'cheap political lies' in view of the yesterday 26 July commissioning of the Abuja-Kaduna Railway by President Muhammadu Buhari. Through one of its social media mouthpieces, PDP Ambassadors, PDP contended that, 'Goodluck Ebele Jonathan finished it before he handed the reign of power to APC. President Buhari commissioned it today as his first major project since assumption of political office'.

In what may be described as a fair sense of opposition and patriotism, the PDP through this platform noted that despite the fact that it was a project completed by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan if the PDP l, but now being commissioned by incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, it was Nigeria's railway. It harped this popular cliche that government is a continuum.

It ended its press release with a tirade against the ruling APC as it's wont to say that the PDP destroyed the country. In their words, 'Stop saying PDP destroyed Nigeria. Start your own and stop giraffying the script of others. Stop saying Jonathan did nothing while in power. It is a cheap political lies'.

For the records, the construction of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line started in February 2011 and was completed in December 2014. The 5 months track laying ceremony for the Abuja-Kaduna line took place in July 2013 with VP Sambo in attendance.

Time have shown that Goodluck Jonathan came ahead of his time, as some Nigerians are still priding over the darkness of the day.
