In what may be described as an apparent show of courage, a newly employed lecturer in the University of Calabar yesterday 7 July made a tirade against the identity of Buhari, arguably the Executive President of Nigeria, Mr Muhammadu Buhari.
Waliya Yohanna Joseph, a first class graduate and Graduate Assistant lecturer from the Department of Modern Languages & Translation Studies, Faculty of Art took to his social media (Facebook) page and scribbled the underlying: 'I think the name Buhari comes from two English words: “Bull” + “Harassing” = Buhari'
Though the newly employed academic didn't articulate reasons for his uncertain and mocked translation of the nomenclature 'Buhari', it may not be unconnected to the ongoing trend of sufferings and uncertainties that has characterised the country sequel to the manning of the reins by the present federal government.
Do you agree with the fledgling academic that the nomenclature Buhari translate to 'bull harassing' or 'harassing bull'? Is the 6th democratically elected President of Nigeria harassing Nigerians, her economy, bodypolitic, unity, etc?
