Insecurity in Calabar: Stand Up Comedian & Compere Wade into the Brouhaha

In view of the ignobly trending insecurity situations concerning Cross River making news headlines across the country, a handful of Cross Riverians and concerned citizens of the country have aired their minds, ranging from indigenes and residents of the state, citizenry of the country, social commentators, public affairs analysts, both local and international development consultants, public figures etc. One of such residents and lovers of the state is popular stand up comedian, compere and artist, Monkals Kalu.

The ace comedian and compere acknowledges his receipt of the trending unpalatable security incidents in the state and exclaimed his sadness. Hear him, 'I keep hearing of different robbery incidents and other criminal activities every other day in the supposed Canaan city, Calabar. This is very sad!'

Stand up Comedian Kalu proceeds to ask 11 questions all bordering on the insecurity of the state capital, Calabar. In his words: My questions….
* Is it that there are no security agencies in Calabar?
* Is it that these criminals are stronger than the security agencies?
* Is the State government not Aware of these ill happenings?
* Does anybody have an explanation for why this is happening?
* Is it that the life and property of the citizens of that state are no longer of importance in that state?
* Is it that investors businesses can't be protected despite the taxes they pay?
* Is Calabar no longer the tourism destination of Nigeria?
* Who are these criminals?
* Are they being Politically Motivated?
* Why haven't the government of Cross River State done something about this unfortunate and disgusting afflictions on innocent, fun loving and peaceful citizens of and visitors in that state?
* What is really happening in Calabar?'

Reports fielding in suggest the governor of the state has met with the various security agencies and their chiefs. The governor has even sent a message to the various criminals telling them he knows who they are and that he is coming after them.
