Yesterday 12 July, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, may have been profoundly embarrassed as Cross River cyberspace hosted a picture and information that bordered on the production of a locally grown, processed and bagged agricultural product from Prince Goddy Jedy Agba's Godilogo Farms —Obudu Rice.
While the governor was globetrotting the vast universe for purposes best known to him and his God, Prince Goddy Jedy-Agba through his Godilogo Farm just finished bagging a brand of rice referred to as Obudu Rice in massive scale. It is alleged that about 50 tons of 10kg, 15kg, 25kg and 50kg have been bagged and sold across the nation. The 50kg bag goes for N16,000 while the 25kg bag goes for N8,000.
Research has it that the Obudu Rice is produced in Obanliku, Obudu, and Kwara State since the government refused him Bansara lands in Ogoja LGA.
If we remember, social commentator like Prince Thomas Abi Jr had been calling on the state government to prioritise rice production in Bansara in Ogoja, etc. Yakurr has Garri, Ikom and Etung have Banana and Plantain, Boki has Pineapple, Ogoja has Yams, There is Cocoa, etc. Cross River State has a strong agricultural potential. Government should evolve policies that will provide the enabling environment for the sector to thrive.

well-done JD Agba, I have been one of your campaigner before what happened came to be. You are still our man. More grease to your elbow. Felicia Ngaji
This is examplary! It's not about party politics but for once let's better the lives of fellow Cross Riverians. Kudos Sir
Is this what you called embarrassment? If this is not for political reason.this is what cross riverbank had long waited for.how can this be an embarrassment for Ayade?Ayade started touching lives with his people oriented business approaches over 10 to 15 years ago, that's why we will not grow beyond hand to mouth politics, JD is in business of rice processing, good let him concentrate and do well at least to bring this product's to the people at reduced price .that's what Ayade is known for,if we have 2 Ayades. We would have gone far.JD if this is for political reason then you have missed it, don't play politics with business, if you can package a bag of rice for political reason you can as well increase it for market purpose. Let's grow our local economy to the benefit of our people.
