Reliable information reaching Negroid Haven has it that the University of Calabar's Nigerian University Commission Data Base Center (UNICAL NUCDBC), the higher institution's ICT department responsible for generating Personal Information Numbers (PINs) for students' school fees and other related charges payment as well as ensuring the registration of students courses online, has shut down for lack of gas supply for her power generating set.
A stream of UNICAL students, early this morning, were at the center to generate PINs in other to pay their school fees for the academic session but were sent away by the management of the center owing to the inability of the management of the higher institution to provide gas for the generator.
Presently, the students are found to be loitering about the Department of Philosophy waiting until noon when it is expected that gas will be made available.
As at yesterday, a similar incident occurred at the Students' Account Unit of the Bursary Department of UNICAL as staff and students were seen to be perspiring uncontrollably.
