STRAIGHT TALK : "On The Chibok Girls Abduction Issue, My Candid Opinion"- By Nelson A. Osuala

I wish to bring to fore this issue about the 'Chibok Girls' that seems to have lingered for so long in our dear country Nigeria as it keeps making the headlines in both our electronic and print media, indiscriminately without check!

The question that keeps coming to mind is.. Were these Girls actually Abducted or Not? And Are they actually missing?

We should not be quick to conclude our answers to the above as the Chibok Girls debate seems to be taking different turns and versions each breaking day.

To begin with, some eminent personalities who are highly respected have argued that indeed over two hundred teenage girls were abducted.

While others on the strength of logic and critical evaluation have argued on the contrary  that no soul was kidnapped in Chibok.

Others still have argued in the same vein that the Chibok story was concocted through the instruments of what I may call the  “politics of fear and intimidation” which is often time than not employed to oust a particular Government out from her Ivory Tower.

Paraphrasing an earlier assertion by Fayose some few months ago,  who asserted unequivocally that the whole  Chibok Girls Abduction story  was a lie, one that was meticulously stage managed to oust the erstwhile Government of GEJ out from office.

OBJ also alluded to the above in an earlier interview of Friday 6th of February, 2016 at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Staff Club in Ile-Ife  as culled from Vanguard Newspapers. There and then Baba stated that No Chibok Girl was missing.  According to him “..  you can not find what is not lost”.

As if that was all,  Yesterday, the foremost Leader of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Front, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has also given yet another startling revelation via his Facebook page, insisting without mincing words and without fear of contradiction that of a truth, no girl was kidnapped from Chibok and that the news of girls being rescued is according to him a scam.

Nobody seems to be telling us the facts. We are nonplussed about these whole scenario. Those who seem to know the truth about whether or not these Chibok Girls were abducted seems to be caught in the web of what I am forced to call the 'conspiracy of silence'.

As it is now, we don't seem to know who to believe anymore.

Curiosity drives us to ask:

Who is fooling who?

Come to think of it, Is Oby Ezekwesilli's BRING BACK OUR GIRLS(BBOG) Campaign a farce or a fact?

Were those Tears She supposedly shed along with other Nigerian women and mothers some two years ago a deception- one based on hypocrisy?

Was GEJ's wife, Madam Dame Patience Jonathan aware that indeed these girls were abducted which led her to visit the supposed mothers of the victims as she sympathetically and with empathy demonstrated the now,  popular household heart cry of  “…Chai! Chai!! There's God..?!”

Is it the case that our Nigerian Government both past and present have now seen Nigerians as a people who can be made and conditioned to believe in lies, grapevines, rumours and falsehood any day – any time?

Furthermore, what in the world would anyone stand to gain to have sustained a lie for over two good years hereby affecting the psychology of innocent Nigerian masses?

When will these psychopaths of a selected few Nigerians and Government leaders stop this game?

The list of my questions is endless as I could go on and on..
