The Cross River State Honourable Commissioner for ICT, Chief Offu E. Aya is in China with a delegation of the Cross River State Smart City Project to conclude arrangement with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Huawei Technologies Coy. Ltd, for commencement of the project.
In attendance are Mr. Isaac Ishamali, the CRS DG —Infrastructure Safety and Maintenance Agency/ICT, Mr. Agim Ikwen, the MD-Darwins Ltd, Mr. Augustine Ugi, MD, Nugi Technologies Ltd, Joe Jin Renzhe, the MD,Huawei Technologies Ltd, Nigeria, Martin Fan Vice President, Huawei, China, Roc Guo Managing Principal, Huawei, China, among others.
At the headquarters complex of Huawei, China, the ICT Commissioner was conducted around the facilities. In one of the instances, he inspected and demonstrated the usage of a smart bicycle that could be used to monitor crime.
The first Smart City in Africa is indeed another confirmation of digital Governor Ayade's uncommon stride in creativity and governance.
