Tekken 8 server maintenance happening tonight for Version 1.04 balance update

Tekken 8 is entering its fourth month since release, and it’s about to see quite a few changes take place that’ll likely have a fairly notable impact on the gameplay.

Bandai Namco is just about to drop the Version 1.04 update for Tekken 8 that includes the game’s first wide-ranging balance patch with server maintenance taking place soon to get it implemented.

As was previously stated, Tekken 8’s server maintenance is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. PDT / 9:30 p.m. EDT and run approximately through midnight PDT / 3 a.m. EDT.

During this time, all online functionality will remain unavailable including online matches, the in-game shop, battle pass, lobbies, leaderboards and more.

Once the update is complete, replays and tips for prior matches will no longer be accessible, and ghost battle data will be updated too.

This Version 1.04 update sets out to buff characters the developers feel are underperforming currently like Asuka, Kuma, Zafina, Panda, Lee, Leroy, Steve and others while hitting some of the consistently strong fighters with nerfs like Dragunov, Feng, Azucena and more.

The first DLC character, Eddy, is also getting touched up with a mix of slight buffs and nerfs as well.

There will also be more general changes made to the battle system with adjustments for stage breakables, wall breaks, and increasing the throw tech window among others.

Bandai Namco has already noted that characters who didn’t really get touched in this patch will receive adjustments in the Version 1.05 update planned for June including Victor, Lili, King, Paul and Yoshimitsu.

As was announced at Evo Japan 2024, Lidia Sobieska will be the second DLC character to join the game this Summer, but there’s quite a bit more planned for the first season.

Tekken 8’s update roadmap confirmed a new Seaside Resort stage and Photo Mode are also coming in the Summer followed by new Story content in the Fall plus more modes and features in the works.
