There is little chance that Erik ten Hag will continue as Manchester United manager past next season after what has been an absolutely horrendous campaign.

It has boiled down to 1 win in 7 Premier League games in the Premier League run in, compounded by last night’s absolutely embarrassing 4-0 whooping at the hands of Crystal Palace.

A fresh report from daily star reports that former manager Jose Mourinho is itching for a second crack at the hottest seat in World Football.

The report claims that the Portuguese tactician has whispered to his companions thay he would walk back to Manchester to take charge of United once again.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time, Mourinho oversaw inarguably the most successful Post-Fergie era winning 3 major titles before being given the sack in December of 2018.

Man United are sitting uncomfortably in eighth place dangerously staring down the barrel of their worst finish since 1990.

Erik’s Reds have been more than disappointing recording a staggering 18 losses this year, it’s their gloomiest run since the ’77-’78 season.

The only glimmer of hope in an otherwise desperately dark season is the FA Cup final at the end of the month against City rivals Manchester City although in all honesty there isn’t much hope there judging by how horribly The Red Devils have been playing.

Mourinho’s latest managerial stint was at Roma, where he steered them to Europa Conference League success in 2022.

Mourinho remains the only manager to have won every single single European trophy and with a proper footballing structure above him, there is no telling how much he can accomplish with United.
