A Colombian artist named Jhony Knight has taken on a particular fighting game challenge for the month of October as they’re drawing various characters from across many different titles as though they were on the same character select screen.
This ranges from Mortal Kombat to King of Fighters to Marvel vs. Capcom and beyond. Melding all these styles into one game may or may not amount to something that’d be a good idea to bring into fruition, but Knight’s beautiful artwork has us strongly considering what such a crossover event might actually play like.
Most all of these images are drawn in a similar style as we see each characters’ same side profile. Interestingly, the Marvel vs. Capcom characters (such as Storm, Rogue, and Psylocke) have gotten far and away the most appreciation on social media.
Such fighters are from a game that’s over 20 years old at this point, but the gallery also has representation of characters from this year as Mortal Kombat 1’s Mileena and Sub-Zero make appearances as well.
We were also a bit surprised to see Akira of Rival Schools (and more recently Street Fighter 5) fame pop up. She looks absolutely stunning in her black biker gear, and seems a tad older than usually portrayed.
We’ve rounded up some of our favorites for the gallery below. You’ll find more, of course, on Knight’s X page (linked above) but be sure to share your thoughts on our selection in the comments before you go. Which of these were your favorites, and could a game where Mileena, Elena, Blue Mary, and Magneto are all on the same roster ever work?
