A bolt driver have been stabbed to death in Calabar by some unidentified passengers, Friday night at about 10pm.
According to a eyewitness account, the bolt driver identified has Francis Atabi was giving his passengers a ride when they got to Mary Slessor, they started struggling the car steering with him in an attempt to steal his car.
He refused to let go while the ones behind tried to strangle him with a rope tied to his neck, the other one on the passenger seat was busy stabbing him multiple times with a kitchen knife.
The bolt driver even with all the stabs and struggling refused to let go and in the process the vehicle which was already swaying left and right on the high way ran into a man passing by. The man is alleged to have died at the spot. When this happened the thieves got off the car and ran away leaving the bolt driver in his own pool of blood.
He was said to have managed to find his way into General hospital with the aide of some persons around, but was rejected and referred to teaching hospital because of the degree injuries he got from the multiple stabs which must have affected his heart.
Unfortunately he died before arriving teaching hospital that night.
