The governor of Cross River State, Sen Prince Bassey Otu in keeping to his promise to ensure the state is free of criminal elements and their activities yesterday met with service chiefs in the state capital.
According to a statement on the governor's tweeter handle, during the brief meeting the governor the reiterate that all criminals in the state should accept our amnesty program within the window that it will be opened or leave the state.
The statement reads;
"Today i had a meeting with all security chiefs and i reiterate that all criminals in the state should accept our amnesty program within the window that it will be opened or leave the state."
Recall that in the governor's inaugural speech he had sent a note of warning to criminal elements within the state to embrace government anemesty program which will soon be rolled out or exit the state.
The statement on governor's micro blogging handle also informed that the governor had requested for the freezing of all state's accounts while directing that all government revenue be channeled into a single account.
" Earlier today, I instructed all accounts belonging to the state government to be frozen with immediate effect and that all transactions be stopped forthwith.
I have been briefed by the accountant general and the head of service.
I have informed them that we need to do a needs assessment in terms of employment and other sectors. All internal generated revenue of the state will be channeled into a single account." The statement reads in parts.
