CALABAR – The Governor Of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of Prof Anthony Owan-Enoh a former Vice Chancellor of the defunct Cross River University Of Technology (CRUTECH) now University Of Cross River State (UNICROSS), As Secretary to the State government.
This was contained in a press statement by Dr Innocent Eteng, Permanent Secretary General Administration, Office Of the Secretary to the state government. According to the statement, Otu also approved the Appointment of other aides.
The statement reads;
“His Excellency Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State has approved the following appointment.
” Prof Anthony Owan-Enoh Secretary to the State Government, Hon Emmanuel Ironbar Chief Of Staff, Major Gen Okoi Ubi (Rtd) State Security Adviser.
AIG John Abang (Rtd) Special Adviser Security (Central), Mr Achu Ben Olayi Special security Adviser (North), Commander Patrick Odiong (South)
Mr Emmanuel Ipole Ogbeche Chief Press Secretary, Mr Sylvester Otu Abang Acting State Chief Of Protocol. The Appointment takes effect immediately”. The statement reads.
In a related development, the governor approved the constitution of two task forces on government vehicle recovery and anti-deforestation.
The membership of the vehicle recovery task force is as follows: Chief Odey Ochicha, Chairman, and Barr. Emmanuel Eyo, Secretary. Members are Hon. Charles Atu, Chief Ayi Etim Effiong, Mr. Goddy Nyiam, Mr. Emmanuel Abeng, Mr. Emmanuel Awubi, Magnus Kale, CSP Moses Yisa, DSC. Egoh Ayamba, Barr. Gilbert Agbor Ntui, Comrade Ben Okorie, Mr. Mike Nsan, Chief Stanley Effiom, and Raymond Yenochia Ogar.
The Taskforce is mandated to commence the immediate recovery of all Government vehicles and hand over same to the Transport Officer, Governor’s Office for appropriate documentation and custody.
The Special Taskforce on Anti-Deforestation has Mr. Charles Ikpeme as Chairman and Mr. Pius Abang as Secretary. Members are Chief Cyril Asuquo, Mr. Sunny Ayang, Mr. Edet Okon Ekpo, Effiong Okon, Felix Arikpo, Arikpo Kingsley, Canice Aniah, Idagu Charles Iye, Chief Okongor Sylvester, Mr. Timothy David Ekpali, Ogar Tawo Obi, Prince Savior Omin, Major I. P Usolor, DSP Enema Effiong Okon, ASC Dele Adero, Reginald Njoku, Simon Nkpang Abok, and Patrick Eyo Etim.
The Taskforce has the mandate to curb all forms of illegal wood logging in our forest, with a view to preserving the rich biodiversity of the state as well as apprehend defaulters.
