CALABAR – Hon. Peter Akapnke, the representative of Obudu, Bekwara, and Obanliku federal constituency in the National Assembly’s Green Chambers, has been inducted into the Education Management and Policy Publishers (EMAPP). During the Association’s First National Conference at the University’s International Conference Centre on August 2nd, 2023, he was honoured with the EMAPP Fellowship Award. Expressing his gratitude, Akapnke vowed to further enhance the quality and sustainability of education.
Recognized for his dedication to improving Nigeria’s educational sector, Hon. Peter Akpanke received praise for his substantial contributions to education development. The prestigious Fellowship Award, a significant accolade within the field, reflects EMAPP’s acknowledgement of his commitment and leadership qualities.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Akpanke emphasized the importance of collaboration among policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to address educational challenges. He highlighted the need for increased investment in research, infrastructure, and training, with a focus on creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment for both students and teachers.
Speaking to the press, Akapnke dedicated the award to his constituents, commending their support during the recent elections that led to his representation in the National Assembly. Professor John Undie, the protem Chairman and founder of EMAPP, explained that the conference aimed to spark discussions about global education funding. He added that the conference also aimed to recognize individuals who have contributed to education’s growth over time and make them Fellows of EMAPP to leverage their knowledge and resources for the betterment of global education.
EMAPP is an academic association registered with the Federal Government, authorized to hold conferences addressing significant global issues. The event was attended by prominent education experts, policymakers, and representatives from various educational institutions. With Akpanke’s recognition by EMAPP, the education sector gains an exemplary role model, signifying potential progress and transformation for the nation’s education system.
