CALABAR – As Cross River State government kicks off the 32 days of nonstop celebration with different activities lined up for the Christmas season tagged "Season of Sweetness", Governor Bessey Otu has called on Calabar residents to paint their homes and clean up their surroundings as they prepare to host tourist and visitors who will be visiting the state this period.
Otu gave the directive in the week as activities commence for the 32-day Calabar Festival and the much anticipated Carnival Calabar and other activities during the Yuletide.
The governor called on all residential houses and businesses within the Calabar metropolis, especially those along the carnival routes, to paint their houses to give the state capital a fresh look.
Further, citizens are enjoined to demonstrate the renowned hospitality and friendliness the people of the state are reputed for, while being vigilant and highly security conscious.
