CALABAR – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has  confirmed the removal and subsequent replacement of Emmanuel Mbora as its Chapter Chairman and leader in Calabar Municipality, Cross River State.
This was contained in a press release signed by Hon. Thomas Edem Bassey, who doubles as Chapter and Caucus Secretary of the party in the chapter. The statement also recognises Mr. Magnus Okon as Acting Chairman and acting Caucus leader, while Chief Victor Felix Idem, the Cross River State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, emerges as the “Natural Leader” of the APC in Calabar Municipality following an unanimous decision reached during a well-attended meeting of party leaders and stakeholders.
According to the statement, the decision to replace Chief Emmanuel Mbora, and Mr. Hon Oku Ita was driven by a “Vote of No Confidence” passed by 20 out of the 26 party chapter executive members. The party cited reasons such as thuggery, questionable conduct, and a disregard for the party’s constitution as the basis for this decision, invoking constitutional powers.
The statement also warned members of the public and the state leadership of the party to be weary of Mbora as he no longer represents the interest of the party and seen in multiple court cases between him and the Government of  Calabar Municipality, stating that anyone who transact any business with Mbora does that at his/her own risk.
