The legislative House and Commission Funds Management bill 2020 has been read a second time in the flour of the Cross River State House of Assembly.

According to the sponsor of the Bill, Rt Hon Hilary Bisong, the bill will facilitate the effective management of the Assembly’s funds especially against the backdrop of the expected autonomy of the Assembly.

Bisong, who represents Boki II State Constituency, further disclosed that, Cross River State will become the 23rd state in the country to domicile such a bill.

On his part, the Leader of the House and Member representing Ogoja State Constituency, Rt Hon Peter Odey emphasized the importance of the bill calling on President Buhari to assent to the bill at the Federal level.

Members, unanimously spoke in favour of the Bill, after which the Speaker, Rt Hon Eteng Williams committed it to Finance and Appropriation Committee to report back to the House in two weeks.
