GOV. AYADE IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDE OFFICE SPACE FOR NEW MDAs - ESU

The Cross River State Government has restated its resolve to provide convenient, environmentally friendly and beffiting office space for all the newly created Ministries, Departments and Agencies by Governor Ben Ayade to enable them deliver on their mandate.

The State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu made the disclosure in Calabar at the end of an on-the-spot assesment of renovation work on the administrative block of the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation (CRSNC), partitioning and demarcation works ongoing at the Prof Eyo Ita House, also known as Desam House and the Okoi Arikpo House, located on Calabar Road, Calabar.

Prof  Esu expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the Nigerian Cronicle Building, noting that the massive space available aside the  space already occupied by the Nigerian Chronicle, will conveniently acomondate five of the newly created Ministries with their retinue of workers for Optimum Productivity, emphasizing that completing the renovation work on the remaining part of the Newspaper Corporation buildings will be most cost effective to government than hiring office space from private owners of buildings in the metropolis.

He tasked the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Comrade Asu Okang to liaise with relevant professionals to come up with a realistic and most cost effective budget for the remaining renovation work on all the buildings to enable government take appropriate steps to quickly resolve the huge office space challenges the State is currently facing.

The Deputy Governor and his entourage were amazed at the newly installed Ultra Modern Printing Machine at the Government Printing Press, which he was informed could print upto 15, 000 copies of 2 colour item in one hour, assuring that the request for Light, Water Borehole and Air Conditioners, would be provided soon to ensure immediate take off of the business oriented Printing Press.

Conducting the Deputy Governor and his entourage round the Newspaper Corporation, the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Comrade Asu Okang said the Contractor is hugely committed to deliver on the works, stressing that he personally impressed on the Contractor to re-commit his personal funds into the project in order to take the work to an appreaciable level and assured the Deputy Governor that the windows, doors and paints are on the way for installation, assuring that the first set of two Ministries out of the five earmaked for accomondation in the premises, will occupy the offices by the second week of March 2020.
Comrade Okang pledged his personal time to extensively monitor and supervise the Contrractor to guarantee delivery of the projects in line with specifications and on time.
