Mr. Joseph ‘Lashakara’ Edet, Managing Director of Summit Hills today received an award of Honour from the Students’ Union Government – SUG of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, for his outstanding contribution to the young people of Cross River State through enterprise development.
Speaking while presenting the award, the Union President Mr Mathew observed that the award was an encouragement sprinter to perform even more.
“We are here to demonstrate this exercise which is borne out of genuine intent to identify and award people who have contributed to the well-being of our young people and this award here is to decorate your wall so others can appreciate your efforts”.
Responding Mr Edet expressed profound joy in the nobel gesture by the union, noting that such awards are of dear value to him as it speaks volume of his participation in driving the course of young people.
While admonishing the student leaders to be of good conduct, he persuaded them to be part of the process that foresees the selections of Local Government leaders by participating in the elections through votes for those who are eligible.
“We must avail ourselves in the process and must all show up at the polls to vote because if we so desire change, we must express it by our actions”.
Adding, Mr Joseph said his award is solely dedicated to his boss, the Governor of Cross River State Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade who saw the potential in him and gave him the ladder upon which he intends to climb high and make great exploits.
