The Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu has announced that all the test results for Cross River State conducted by the Irua, Enugu State COVID -19 testing laboratory came in negative.
She made this known through her facebook timeline, “All samples taken to irua return NEGATIVE!
#CRSCOVID-19Free!!!”
The news was received in great joy by residents of the state who were already tensed by the report of patients being admitted at the isolation center for possible case of the novel COVID -19 outbreak in Cross River State.
Although patients with relative symptoms of the COVID -19 were admitted into the State’s isolation center in Calabar, medical professionals had opined that the symptoms exhibited by these patients though related to that of COVID -19, is not enough to qualify these cases as suspected COVID cases.
Regardless, the State has remained in lock down after the State Governor Prof. Ben Ayade over a week ago placed ban on all public gatherings and social activities with a ‘No face mask, no movement’ policy.
The virus which has spread across 12 states of the federation with over 170 cases of infection and 2 death has crippled economic activities nationwide.
